Researching our ancestry allows us to connect to family, past, and present, and enables us to find out more about the lives they lived. However, it is not always easy to find the information you are looking for. Whilst a lot of information is on-line, a large number of genealogy records are still held un-digitised within local archives and heritage organisations - many of which are still not catalogued or searchable.
Bedfordshire Genealogy & Family History Research is run by Vicki Manners, a Bedfordshire genealogist with over 20 years experience. Prior to setting up her own genealogy consultancy, Vicki worked for Bedfordshire Archives and a number of other heritage organisations in Bedfordshire. This breadth of experience gives her a specialist knowledge of how and where to find historical records in Bedfordshire, particularly those that are not available on-line.
Vicki can help you find your ancestors in Bedfordshire and the UK by sourcing original genealogy records to build your family tree chart. If you need help with finding out more about the family and social history of your ancestors, for example where they lived, what they did for a living, if they were wealthy, did they have cause to visit the local jail, and how did they integrate with the local community - we can help with this too. Vicki also provides a specialist house history service so you can find out more about a building where your or your relatives lived.
If you can't find an ancestor, Vicki also specialises in genetic genealogy using DNA to find your ancestory. This year alone she has helped several families identify their parents and/or grandparents.
Any research undertaken is tailored to meet your specific requirements - from small precise enquiries to large scale research projects, If you are interested in finding out more, Vicki offers a free, no obligation initial consultation to discuss your requirements and how she can help you.
